Fogging is a solvable problem of the food packaging and agricultural industry. In the packaging techniques, there are ways to keep the products fresh, tasty and safe to eat. The plastic film industry experts have opined that close to 30% of the packaged food meant for consumption is spoiled even before consumption. This is a big loss for manufacturers. In the agricultural industry, the fog formed on films decrease the amount of sun rays reaching the plants, and the water drops sometimes burn the plants due to their lens effect. The term ‘fog’ is referred to gathering of condensed water droplets together on a surface of any plastic film.

When the ambient temperature of film is cooled to dew point, there is temperature difference between the inside and the outside of the film, resulting in fog. Antifog masterbatch is used to prevent the formation of fog on the inside of a plastic film used in agricultural and food packaging applications.
