Welset Plast Extrusion Pvt Ltd headquartered in Mumbai hosted its 50th year celebrations on Sept 20, 2019 at a suburban five star hotel recently.  The event was attended by the whos who of the Indian Plastics Industry and was a glittering turnout to celebrated the success of Mr. Arvind Mehtas enterprise -Welset.

It was attended by more than 300 business associates. Amongst who graced the occasion were Shri M P Taparia of Supreme Industries Limited; Shri Vaman Parekh of Neelkamal Ltd.; Shri Jayant Chheda of Prince Plastics; Shri Raju Desai and Shri Jayesh Rambhia of AIPMA; Shri Arunbhai Muchalla of Suraj Water Park and Shri Jigish Doshi – President Plastindia Foundation.

Welset started operations in 1968 and forayed in Cellulose Acetate Butyrate (CAB), the first order being taken by Arvindbhai, as he is fondly called by all.  The company has grown from strength to strength and currently is rated as one of the leading manufacturers of additives and color masterbatches with more than 20,000 colors and black and white masterbatches, speciality raw material and PVC compounds for the medical plastics industry.

With 4 plants in Silvasssa with more than 50,000 MTPA. Welset is truly on its way to setting new milestones in the business of raw materials. Recently they have entered into a sale with Mitsubishi Chemicals, Japan and sold their Medical Compounds Manufacturing process to them. This landmark deal was secured after much due diligence by Mitsubishi and signifies the huge faith that the international company has in the “make in india” brand of Welset.

Mr Paresh Mehta, Director, Welset says “Moving to speciality products, branding and global sales are some aspects of the business that continue to excite us. Along with hard work, smart work is equally important and that will be a key to our future growth”

Mr. Arvind Mehta emphasised on the need for the future generation to always look at “ customer first” and how would you innovate to resolve customer needs first rather than push your “off the shelf” products, and that he believes will take Welset to greater heights of success.

The Welset core management team of Mr. Arvind Mehta, Paresh Mehta, Keshavi Mehta, Indira Mehta and Ashok Kothary are positive of doubling their growth and expanding to new markets and Mr Ashok Kothary, spoke about how it was essential to adopt best practises, infuse new talent and bring in more partnerships and technology exchanges to make welset the most respected and trusted name for its customers.

Ms. Keshavi Mehta spoke about procurement and better IT infra and says that “these two will be big game changers in the competitive market and for Welset, being there First and being “first time right” is critical to remain the favorites with their customers.

The event marks the 51st year of Welset Plast Extrusions in the business.
